I then spoke with Dr. Shawn Williams and he gave me enlighten. He told me about the different jobs and how flexible this major was. The only problem I was facing was to choose clinical or management. I figured out then a year later to choose management. I still found myself struggling taking chemistry and biology.
Do you remember in kindergarten when the teacher would ask the class what they wanted to be when they grew up? The answers usually consisted of firemen, doctors, princesses, cowboys, or an astronaut. Then there was always the teacher’s pet who of course said they wanted to be a teacher (typical). Well college is a lot like kindergarten. Your advisor asks you,” what do you want to do with your life after college”, but this time the answers don’t come as easily.
I have known for years that I wanted to work in the realm of health science. I knew that I wanted to do something in sports medicine. When I took a deeper look into sports medicine I learned that there are many areas of sports medicine that you can get licensed in and that the sports medicine part would be a specialty to attach to it. So I took the list as started to look through it at each job that plays an affect in the sport medicine area. I narrowed in on Physical Therapy and then took the time to do some shadowing in it for my senior study.
Broken bones or raging fevers,The two jobs that I chose to further gain knowledge of is a physician assistant and a physical therapist. As I was doing my research I wanted to see the extent of requirements that each occupation requires while seeing overall which job sounds more appealing to me. As of right now I am leading towards the physician assistant job as I have always been interested more of the prescription medicine side of things. In the future I have to decide whether or not I want to more personally in to the range of motions of people who have been injured, or look in to a more personal connection with the medicine side of things.
The Physical Therapist Assistant is an amazing career I will like to go in because I’ll be helping everyone. I have the skill sets to become a great one because I hate seeing people sad and injure, and I’m ambitions on what I’m doing. The job offers great pay, benefits, job opportunities, and can move up to physical therapist. I’m already working for the Miami Heat and one day I will like to work for the basketball team. I love basketball, so working for the basketball team will be a great fit for me and a life time goal.
I do want to be and Physical Therapist myself , I want to become a PTA for my introduction into this world,I want to someday run my own physical therapy center. I want to go to CSU and major in sports science. I do want to work for a major sports team. I find that to be an exciting career to be in. that 's why I choose to become a PTA.
Becoming an occupational therapist is my passion and my long-term career goal. Since a young age I have been incredibly inspired and motivated to befriend and help disabled individuals. Having grown up with a disabled mother who benefited from the services of occupational therapy I had the opportunity to see first hand how the experience gave can give individuals like her fulfilling and productive lives. With both parents working as healthcare professionals, including my mother who is now an occupational therapist herself, I see every day how rewarding the field is. Through my life I have had unique personal, professional and educational experiences that have shaped me into a strong candidate for an advanced education in occupational therapy.
I want to be part of such a rewarding career. I feel that the subjects I have studied have provided me with a good foundation of skills and knowledge that I will use on a daily basis as Occupational therapist. In Biology I learned about the human body on a physical level. I found learning how the body works to be fascinating and I look forward to expanding my knowledge even more with this course.
I thought I knew what career path I wanted for my future, with that in mind, I sought a degree in Fitness and Human Performance to continue with a career in Occupational Therapy. In this career choice, the way I got to help patients was through therapy. While taking classes, I realized Occupational Therapy is not what I truly was passionate about. I decided to take my mother’s advice and choose what I truly love to do, which is to help people all around and I believe the nursing program would be the best fit. I am currently completing my certified nurse program to proceed with a job as a patient care technician.
I have chosen public health as my major because it is a dynamic field. I have a passion for making a difference in people’s lives and helping others achieve their goals. It is with great passion that I am dedicated and willing to contribute my service or skills to help someone in need. My philosophy of health education is very simple, to prevent, improve and educate the lives of individuals, families, communities, populations, and societies. Besides, there is no safer way to touch people’s lives than through public health.
This career has interested me the most I think because I like learning more and more everyday and being a physical therapist you learn a lot each day. You would learn more about the body everyday like learning about new exercises to do and learning more body parts such as tendons, ligaments, bones, muscles, and many different things such as
By 2026 physical therapy jobs are said to be increased by 25% (“10 Interesting Physical Therapy Facts & Statistics,” 28 Dec. 2017). Physical therapists are doctors that help people who have pain during movement or have lost some range of motion. They help those patients regain their abilities or manage their pain (Bellamy). This is a great career to go into. There are many aspects that go into being a physical therapist like degrees, advancement opportunities, day to day responsibilities, and much more.
My future goal is to become an Occupational Therapist. They help patients to recover and improve skills needed for daily living and working. I plan to attend either Gannon or St. Francis University to pursue my degree in this field. Both schools offer the five year program which combines a bachelor and master degree. My plan is to pass my knowledge onto the people I care for to better their quality of life.
It took me a little over two years to finally decide on a major, and to this day I am still working on my biology degree as a new transfer student at Rowan University. Picking my major wasn’t an easy path, but its what I needed to do to make a final decision. The question that I mentioned earlier “ What will you be doing on this date 20 years from now?” played a huge factor in me deciding what I wanted my major to be. I couldn’t see myself working with computers for the rest of my life I found it to be quite boring, and throughout high school and even in college I always had a passion for science. Learning about animals played a huge part in me role in me picking biology as my science of choice.
Second, Another reason made me pick this major is that I feel inside of me that I can do something useful for humanity by this job, I have the feeling that I can probably add something to this career. I am always wishing to wear the white coat and be called by doctor, it is not just a dream, it is my life for me. I believe I have the ability to deal with patients and help them. Medicine has many branches and field, personally I love dealing with eyes and vision. I believe they are the
