Death was the best thing that could have happened to Elie WIesel. In his book, night, he has to overcome some of the most gruesome experiences ever read about, and it’s a true story. He had to get over working in terrible conditions, get over losing his family, and forget his future as his faith was lost. To start off, Elie had to get over the unbearable dilemma of losing multiple members of his family. It is unimaginable to lose any family members in such a horrid way, but that was only one of the barriers he had to face.
Night is perhaps the most important memoir written up to date. Written in 1956 by Elie Wiesel a holocaust survivor. Night remenaces at the dark times of the holocaust during the Nazi Regime in World War 2. It becomes a powerful text with a powerful message, to let everybody know what he experience and take into account that it should never happen again.
In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, it talks about how his time in the concentration and how they were treated, and what he thought about. He talks about how they were treated brutally and unfairly just because of their religion. How they were forced to live in poor conditions, and how they were promised a better life if they came with them. That promise was broken as soon as they got to their first concentration camp. When they first go their they saw the smoke coming from the chimneys and the smelling of burning flesh.
The book night is about the author Elie Wiesel’s experiences in concentration camps all around Europe. The camps were Auschwitz, where he was first deported on May of 1944 with his father, mother, and his sister. He stayed there for 8 months before being liberated on January 27, 1945. He also stayed at Buna, Gleiwitz, and Buchenwald throughout the year. The book consists of memories of Wiesel’s time in the camps, and how it’s affected him in his life today.

They were killed on the spot if they did not follow directions. Wiesel wanted to show how evil mankind can be, the way they were treated with hatred, disgust and looked down upon. They were treated like dogs. Wiesel is trying to teach that even though there is evil in the world, you cannot let go of your positivity, hope, and will to survive.

Night Response Paper Reading this memoir about the horrific genocide is very disturbing. It makes me upset that millions of innocent people are killed for literally nothing. How does Eliezer tolerate dehumanization, why didn't the Aryans help the Jews, how does Eliezer survive with small amount of food, these questions go through my mind everytime I read the memoir, Night. I’m learning a lot as I’m reading this memoir. For example, how the prisoners are dehumanized and what their life is like in concentration camps.
The book Night by Elie Wiesel is a sad and depressing story about Eliezer and his story during the Holocaust and every thing that happened to him during this time. I feel that if I was in this situation I would feel the same exact way Eliezer would because being a teenager during the time of all of this would be stressful and complicated, in fact, this is how I would relate to the text personally. If I had to compare how I view the world between how the text views the world then I would say that they would be similar and agree with each other. There will always be bad people/ things in the world, but if you wait long enough and try hard enough you’ll make it to the end and all the pain will go away. In this situation I feel as if giving up would be the wrong thing to do and pushing through would be the right thing to do in order to stay alive.

The memoir “Night” by Elie Wiesel describes how the Jews were mistreated by the Nazi’s and transported into cattle cars into concentration camps. The Holocaust is responsible for 6 million deaths and the pain is still felt to this day. The S.S. officers dehumanized the Jews by abusing and treating them as animals, making conditions unbearable in the concentration camps, and by making transportation nearly impossible to live through.
Wiesel's obligations were letting us know basically what needs to happen or the actually meaning. His obligations were basically hope, despair and memory . Hope, Wiesels was saying that dreams are not dream without hope and that hope is really important and that hope with ou memory is like memory without hope, " For me, hope without memory is like memory without hope. Just as man cannot live without dreams, he cannot live without hope. If dreams reflect the past, hope summons the future"(page 1 para.3).
The anchoring fear and pain that “Night” brought to me gave me chills as I spent my nights thinking about the traitorous ideals that plagued this world in the past. The pain that you and your family felt brought me to tears by the amount of loss that you had to endure. I believe that if I was put in your position years ago I couldn't handle it like you did and have the will to survive day in and day out for the allied forces to save me. Your story gave me a different mindset by teaching me wars need to stop and we all need to come together not as different races or religions but as human beings and as equals. By writing this book you have taught me and generations to come that we need to change this world for the better.
The picture that lingered in my mind the most after reading Night was the thoughts of Nazis burning many, many babies in furnaces like they were meat. The reason that this lingered in my mind was because babies are so defenseless and innocent. They were no threat and could have caused no harm to the Nazis, but the Nazis were so evil that they burned young babies alive. This stuck with me because although I knew the Nazis were evil people, even I didn’t go so far as to think that they would ruthlessly and systematically destroy helpless children. It also strikes me as odd, because although the babies were Jewish, they could have been indoctrinated by Nazis and raised away from their Jewish families - thus fulfilling the Nazi goal of eliminating
