An objection to group treatment is that it could inspire members’ conformity and dependency. Influenced by the pressure from the rest of the group one of the teens could change a healthy behavior or manful opinions due to real or imagined pressure from members, which becomes conformity. On the other hand, groups can foster dependent personality among members. The dependent personality is compliant, passive, suggestible, sensitive to what others want, yielding to other's opinions, needy to have others like us, and generally pleased to be taken care of. Members could become contingent with the therapist or other members interrupting his or her emotions, thus leaving them with little to none effort to do so independently. Upon self-disclosure, members are vulnerable to hostile individuals that are too aggressive to benefit from other’s experiences or from the group as whole. Our treatment group will encourage each teen to share their opinions, past experiences and emotions; this could make members reluctant to share personal emotions or issues and especially those feelings that are very private to that person. For example, a teenager might not feel comfortable opening up about a traumatic experience if it was related to past physical or sexual abuse to a group of people, but may feel more comfortable one-on-one with a therapist. Additionally, an individual may find it harder to share personal emotions, thoughts, and experiences with a group because members could effortlessly break confidentiality. When there is a large group of people one may break confidentiality and share information said in a private group session with others outside of that group. Unfortunately, group members could break confidentially without even realizing it, so it is imperative that during the orientation session the therapist discuses privacy, aggressive behaviors and confidentiality to alleviate these disadvantages from
