To another person, it might be so simple as losing an object that meant a lot to them. These losses can impact the rest of someone 's life. I have experienced this feeling within the last year. My mom has been really sick recently and lots of things have changed even over the past few years, but only a few months ago would it really make the biggest impact in my opinion. Memories and Grieving Impacting Ethical and Moral Decisions In J.K Rowling’s novel Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Mark Zusak’s novel The Book Thief, memories act as an important basis for the actions and choices of characters. Memories of influential people in character’s lives often act as a basis point for his or her ethical or moral beliefs. Thus, when acting or making choices, memories of loved ones and the grief associated with loss are significant in character’s choices.
Change occurs every day involuntarily. When people encounter change they are limited to only two points of views on it, negatively or positively. Some may react by panicking and going into denial whereas others may try to adapt to it and make the best out of the situation. It can affect one’s life drastically depending on the situation and how they portray it. A negative change can ultimately have a positive outcome. Change is not always bad, but in order for it to be good you need to make it good. Change occurs all the time, and it happens to everyone at one point in his or her life.

However, there is a positive side of grief if one looks for it. It is growth. One may grow in various ways out of loss and grief. Months or years after the grief experience when one has recovered from the emotional devastation, one can see traces of growth as a result of going through a painful experience. Some people are able to see positive changes as a result of the unfortunate situation.
