Some of these fumes can cause brain damage if breathed for too long and the Industrial Revolution was one of the biggest causes of pollution. They were
Even though many might say that driving is more convent, it is actually more harmful to the Earth. Biking or walking to places nearby can help cut down the carbon produced in the air. According to Jensen and McMillan, we can save about “575 million tons of carbon dioxide” if we cut down driving (Jensen and McMillan 706). This is telling us that if we try to cut back on the driving the air can be much cleaner because it is reducing how much carbon dioxide is exerted. Cutting back on driving is one of the many solutions that can help cut back on carbon dioxide production.
Following the Clean Air Act of 1970, air pollution had significantly decreased in statistical levels, even corroborating the fact that Americans experience longer and healthier lives, with better visibility due to diminished smog and fog levels. On a broader note, even crops and farm animals saw a benefit in this Act, with cleaner and fresher air to use in many processes, like respiration and photosynthesis. In response to the Clean Water Act of 1972, the loss of wetlands have significantly decreased, and the bodies of water used for leisurely activities, such as fishing and swimming, have seen an increase. More impactfully, billions of pollutants have been eradicated from national waters, purifying and cleansing it for public use. Furthermore, public advocacy efforts such as the protests seen in the New York Times post in Document 3, and the speech given by Hansen in Document 5, have set the stage for global climate change activism.
However, even though this provides cleaner air for us to breathe, the process to make these types of cars is expensive. Mr. Ray brings this chapter home by posing the question: Is smog and air pollution really harmful to human health? Ray tells us that no evidence has proven that breathing either smog or air pollution causes any type of lung cancer in humans. However, Mr. Ray's statements are at odds with various doctors and researchers. Asthmatics are heavily impacted by both smog and air pollution.
The new invention of the steam engine added to the pollution to the air due to the smoke released from the machines. With the release of chemicals from the machinery, the surrounding air that the citizens
Now we have much worse things like cars that leave of smog and gases like carbon monoxide and all those other gases that are led of from everywhere. They ruin our natural wonders, cause global warming and make the earth look so dirty. These gases cause deaths from premature birth, lung cancer, heart attacks, to asthma attacks. In an article by LA Times it states that, ¨Bakersfield tops the list for having the most unhealthy days from airborne particles spewed by highway traffic, diesel trucks, farm equipment and fireplaces, the American Lung Assn. 's State of the Air 2016 report
The Clear Air Act of 1970 gave the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) the ability to regulate motor vehicle pollution. As a result, the EPA has been implementing regulatory and control policies to reduce pollution ever since [4]. The car industry has been forced to respond to the regulations imposed by the EPA with different solutions to reduce emissions. In 1975, the first-generation catalytic converters were introduced as a response to the Clean Air Act of 1970. The catalytic converters decreased the emissions of hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide of the vehicles made after 1975 and have since been improved to [5].
Have you ever heard of a blizzard? This is a severe weather event and is a long-lasting snowstorm with strong winds and intense snowfall. This fierce weather storm can freeze flesh in seconds. Yeah, we can say this isn’t just a few snowflakes.
The Protestant Reformation was sparked by Martin Luther and his 95 Theses. Martin Luther exposed the wrong doings and the corruption of the catholic church. The reason of reformation being sparked was clerical immorality, pluralism, simeny, ignorance. The church officials were too powerful and ignorant The catholics believed the pope and church officials decided the interpretation of the bible. So Luther spread the belief of self interpretation.

Power plants releases smoke and ash during processing of burning of coal contributed significantly to the problem of air pollution in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1940 air pollution in the United States and the complaints of the public pressured the government to do something about the problem, the government regulators had to act. The smog that formed around Los Angeles and other big cities around began to report air quality degradation. California was the first state to pass air pollution regulations. In 1947 just shortly after California acted the government convened the first national air pollution symposium consisting of the environmental experts and the representatives of the government.
Automotive emission related air pollution must be reduced before its effects on health can
But that still won’t get rid of pollution. Not everyone needs to stop doing any activities that causes pollution. But, everyone needs to at least try to reduce the amount of activities they do that cause pollution. Simple acts from using common transportation to reusing plastic bags are extremely helpful to our environment and future environment. Start acting now before it’s too late.

There are many problems that threatens society and one problem in particular, air pollution is a problem that threatens everyone. Air pollution is the contamination of air with pollutants that are harmful to humans, animals, and the environment. It began to be a problem when humans discovered the uses of fire and then the amount of air pollution exponentially grew after the industrial revolution, and is still a problem even today. The largest causes of air pollution are from human activities such as burning of fossil fuels and gas emissions from manufacturing plants. There are ways that ordinary people can help contribute to prevent air pollution and or else face the dangerous consequences of polluted air.
