The Silicon Valley is the home of global technology companies and futuristic innovations. Recently the Milpitas City Council has unanimously voted to allow the Milpitas Police Department to gain a new piece of wiretapping technology. Created by Sytech, Advanced Digital Audio Collection System 4 (ADACS4) is a groundbreaking device that is able to tap into anything electronic including your phone, emails, cameras, etc. It is designed to help the police with criminal investigations, crack big cases, and reduce crimes. Even though this will be a huge benefit for the police, invading people's privacy and not allowing the public to vote for their privacy to be invaded should result in wiretapping being illegal. …show more content…

This means every text message you send, every email you receive, and every selfie you take would be obtainable by the Milpitas Police Department due to new software is in the (ADACS4). Editor Ian Bauer from the Milpitas Post states, “the system will intercept ALL calls from landlines, cell phones, and video calls in the area.” Intercepting a known criminals phone would be respectable but an entire communities privacy would be inadmissible.
