These two stories share many similarities and differences in both the characters, and conflict.
In, "A Good Man Down, Lee Jenkins vividly tells this event as if you were write there witnessing this happen to the town. Going into depth about who Ed Thomas, Mark Becker, and Bob Smeins helped form the people and show us the type of person they were from the very beginning through the tone that shaped this article. Jenkins goes in depth about how Thomas was more than just an ordinary High School football coach and that he meant something to each and every person in the town and the sentence, "He was the rock that this community was built on," shows this (Jenkins). Kristan Higgins is the best selling author of several novels, including the “Blue Heron” series. The books in the series are connected because of the Blue Heron winery, located in Manningsport, New York, that the Holland family owns. Three of the books are centered around a single member of the Holland family- Faith, Honor, and Jack, the other two entries are focused on twins Connor and Colleen O 'Rourke. All five are unmarried at the beginning of their respective books. “The Best Man” was the first book released in the series and was released in early 2013.
Despite what many might think, "Undaunted Courage" by Steven Ambrose is an excellent non-fiction adventure about the journey of Lewis and Clark. This book rekindled my interest in the Lewis and Clark Exhibition and I would recommend it to all. An excellent book that forces one to appreciate not just Lewis and Clark, but all Americans who took great risks to allow us to live as we do. In many standard books, it is said that Lewis death was an accident or a murder, while in "Undaunted Courage" his death has ruled a suicide. I had also learned that the only people on this journey were Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, and a young Indian named Sacagawea, a young Indian who had been captured by Lewis and Clark to serve as a guide.
He paints the addict as being a mean and uncaring person. He describes him in this way because the narrator always saw him as the man who would mow over our baseballs in his yard and not care. This is how addicts behave, they consume themselves in their addiction and anyone close or nearby become sucked in and feel a negative affect from them. The narrator describes the man’s emotion as he mows over sticks and stones as being happy “no matter what the manual said. ”

James, in the story “Everything Will Be Okay” by James Howe, is a kind-hearted character because he brought a diseased and dirty cat home, also because he did not want to go animal hunting with his family, and because James does everything in his power to make sure no one will put this stray cat down. In the beginning of the story James brought a sick cat home and started to take care of it. He asked his parents if he could continue to care for the cat instead of giving the cat to Dr.Milk, who is a veterinarian that was planning on taking care of the stray cat. His parents agreed and let James keep the cat, and named him Smokey.
Also John's childhood was not just filled with mental abuse but both physical abuse from his father. John's father was a severe alcoholic; he abused him because in his eyes John was not masculine enough. Due to all this built up tension between John and his father he grew really close to his mom and sisters. As a result of all the abuse John developed schizophrenia.
He also was very caring for others. Like John fought Norton Kelly to keep Norton from breaking all of Mr. Pignati’s glass pigs. At that point in the novel that is where John really started to become a man, because that was after the party that he had. And after that party he felt bad, and did not want to have that feeling. John was not honest at all in the beginning of the story.

This family trip turns violent and this gruesome ending can easily represent the violence taking place in America during the time this story was written by O’Connor and even today. The family decides to move from Georgia to Tennessee they get in the car and head out. On their way, they meet some people and eat lunch with them one of the men offhandedly remark, "A good man is hard to find," Red Sammy said. "Every- thing is getting terrible.
The Characterization of Lane Dean Jr. David Foster Wallance’s short story, “Good People”, portrays the main characters issues while pondering the difficulties of spirituality during an emotional event. The main character, Lane Dean Jr. and his girlfriend are faced with a life changing decision: whether to abort the child Sheri is pregnant with or raise the child. Throughout this decision, Dean is faced with many psychological and spiritual dilemmas. While the couple originally decides to have an abortion, Sheri becomes unsure of the decision. While the pace of the story is slow, it emphasizes the emotional distress that both Dean and Sheri are going through.
