This essay will review the life of Vickie Lynn Hogan also known as Anna Nichole Smith, her childhood, her family, her career, and her struggle with drugs. One small-town girl with a dream to make it big in show business and modeling.
Drug and alcohol addiction does not discriminate. Addiction is not prejudice against race, sex, social class, body size, or intelligence levels. Addiction affects the addict and their loved ones. Addiction does not shy away from the limelight. Popular actors, actresses, pop artists, and other celebrities are not immune from drug addiction. Drug addiction is a disease. It seeks out vulnerable people to consume. Vickie Lynn Hogan is an example of how addiction can destroy hopes, dreams, and lives.

They may question why someone would turn to drugs when they had money, fame, and a family. Many believe that drugs are a sign of low self esteem and the lack of willpower. The idea that people can stop their drug use if they want it bad enough. Cancer is a disease you cannot just walk away from and so is drug addiction. People who get off drugs and stay off for years still have their struggle to stay clean. Drugs affect more than just the body. They also alter the brain and the ways a person thinks. Sobriety has no price tag. Yes, money helps get a person into a great facility for treatment and the best treatment options, however, it takes loving and active support from loved ones.
