In today’s world of technology, being connected to the Internet is a part of everyday life. With that said, users have valid concerns about online privacy and their right to privacy. Though, after the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks the United States citizens looked to their government for answers and security. For instance, at the demands of the its citizens, the United States government enacted “The War on Terror,” which took away certain civil liberties of the citizens, including their right to privacy in the name of national security. Much like how Sherry Turkle discusses younger generations growing up with technology and being seemingly oblivious to their own privacy rights because of this. Furthermore, when kids want to access an online app they are willing to agree to the terms and conditions just so they can access it. As Julia Angwin and Jeremy Singer-Vine reveal in, “REVIEW --- What They Know: A Wall Street Investigation: The Selling of You,” users accept the terms and conditions that collect personal information to access online apps, games, and social media in exchange for their location, access to their devices, and their browsing habits. Furthermore, uninformed users do not realize that by accepting the terms and conditions of online apps, they are allowing access to the location of where a picture was taken, or where they might be in real time. They are opening the door to online intrusions by criminals and computer hackers, that use the digital age to their advantage, stealing personal and confidential information. As younger generations grow up they face the awkward social challenges that most adolescents go through, but living in the digital age puts them in a virtual society that is hard to monitor, and puts their privacy at
