I, Rex Okonkwo, became the person who I am today by letting many people influence me and my decision making. Friends & family all have some type of impact in my life and without them; I will be a completely different person. First, I had my father who showed me how to be a gentleman. He showed me how to be polite to others, how to respect others, and how to help the poor in the community I currently reside in. Second, my mother; she is the one who is always yelling at me to do the correct actions and not the poor one. She is the reason why I wake up in the morning and do something productive not only for me, but for the family. My brother let the negativity around him bother him and it cost him jail time. But with me, I take the negativity and turn it into positivity so I can continue with my future and reach the goals that I want to accomplish. Fourth, my sister who is currently in nursing school at the wonderful Towson University. Seeing her succeed in high school and college makes me jealous. I want to be better than her; I want to do more than her. I look up her as she is my idol and will forever be my idol. By letting these four people influence me, I have been told by many peers and adults that I am very respectful, hardworking, talented, and straightforward with my education. I will enhance the values of Towson University by bringing positivity to the campus, providing a helping hand to others, and by doing extracurricular activities.
