March 21st, 2006 is a day that will go down in history. It was the day users could reach each other through viral threads and ideas. The day celebrities could reach the world with a press of a button. President Trump created a twitter account March of 2009. President Trump’s twitter history was very bare up until September of 2011 when he first announced the idea for running for president and started to become involved in the political atmosphere. After then his persona was slowly being built, with his slogan “Make America Great Again” making its first appearance January 3rd, 2012. (Lazer, 2017) President Trump’s twitter history is full of different colloquial saying, words, and adjectives that are used to convey his strong language of personality through social media. He uses the platform to reach out to public in a very accessible way, that also allows him to trend in worldwide atmospheres.

Some of the characteristics of his language are the repetition in words. He uses repetition to convey a point. For example, in a speech where he described the government as a mess, he said mess twice, with emphasis on the second word. President Trump usually emphasizes words like failure, places, and anything that allows him to boastful. The boastful characteristic comes from his aggressive New-Yorker nature and his demeanor of looking like a “tough-guy.” (Sclafani, 2017)Other parts of his tweets that are conveyed are how his syntax demonstrates a very clear and concise way of speaking. Most of it is a “cut and dry” type of language because Trump has to display his message within the character limit that is on Twitter.
