In 1861, Alfred M. Green delivered a speech to Black Americans in Philadelphia a month into the Civil War that would be remembered throughout history.The Civil War was a battle between the Confederate and Northern states covering the issue of slavery. In his speech, Alfred Green encourages African Americans to fight for their religious freedom.
