On September 11th 2001 the President of the United States George W Bush spoke to the American citizens about a horrific event that took place just hours before, the terrorist attacks on the twin towers in New York. America was at a time of shock during September 11th in the year 2001 when two commercial planes filled with passengers crashed into both the north and south facing towers in the large city of New York which caused the two skyscrapers to crumble to the ground with great force causing mass casualties and injuries. Bush uses these thoughts in order to convey the message of that it is important to be united at times of grief and he uses this using the emotional factor in order to give a sense of patriotism within the american people as well as a sense of united and having the same idea of the retaliation of the american government to the people the crashed the two planes into the twin towers. Bush used ideological thoughts in his speech in order to portray his message of that america as a whole is a strong nation and we don’t stand down to our enemies which elaborates on the message that he is trying to get across to the american people that because the terrorists knocked down our biggest building and caused destruction on american soil that there will be consequences and it will end in american victory. Bush connects this to the previous point that he made that with the terrorist attacks it caused americans to feel united and patriotic because with this patriotism and unity within the american people it caused a sense of urgency to go after the people who were responsible for the attacks on the twin towers which were the taliban.
