When is it Going to Change? Nothing will change, many mass shootings have occurred in our nation’s history.
One, author, Steve Israel wrote in his argument article “Nothing Will Change After the Las Vegas Shooting.” This was published after a recent mass shooting in October of 2017 in the New York Times. His article is plausible because of his appeals to emotions and the establishing of his authority Israel begins building his credibility with personal experiences, views and beliefs, including many reputable sources, situations, and facts in his article. This is a very effective piece of rhetoric because he makes a great appeal to ethos, logos and pathos and he continues to do so all throughout his article. He does a great job getting his opinion across and sharing his beliefs. He gives and makes list of events that have occurred to strengthen his argument. He is very strongly opinionated and gets his views across to make the point he wants. He established his argument in a very effective way and with great use of ethos, logos and pathos. Israel knows what he is doing to get at your emotions. Israel also is not lacking in terms of authority or expertise on this topic either. Israel seems to know what he’s talking about and knows where and when to give credit. Even after all it is taking to get something done he still doesn’t give up on what he believes in. Israel keeps trying to get what he wants done with gun laws even though it is taking forever and is a slow process, he never gives up. Eventually if he keeps on trying Israel will get his wish on gun laws. If Israel can get his way and if all goes well the United States should no longer have to witness the horrible and evil thing mass shootings
