Bush’s relationship with the American citizens is comforting and soothing. Bush’s 9/11 Address was meant to influence everybody including the terrorist. They assume that America is going to stick together and get through this and they’re holding president Bush accountable because he promised this. After the message, the American people assume that the terrorist will be taken down. Bush is basically saying that America will stand strong and whoever did this will pay for their actions. He is also sympathetic for the families who lost their loved ones. With the message, Bush is trying to bring peace and comfort to all Americans. Bush released the statement,”Even though i walk through the shadow of death, I fear no evil for you are with me.” This statement generates emotion to the families that lost loved ones in this tragedy. If Bush would’ve added humor to the speech it would effect the message because it would be inappropriate. Bush really executed this speech by using lots of rhetorical devices, fallacies, and loaded words. “The victims were in airplanes or in their offices: secretaries, business men and women, military and federal workers, moms and dads, friends and neighbors.” This is one of the pathos in his speech. Emotional words Bush uses were “peace and security,””prayer,” and these words are meant to touch the hearts of all Americans that were hurt by this tragedy.
