In the “Lives of a living cell” Thomas accomplishes his purpose of commenting on human behavior by showing that there is more to life then what you see, Thomas uses the following rhetorical and literary devices including Logos to construct his argument. I believe Thomas is right in his belief because people usually don't focus on the big picture but focus on the little things and ignore everything else as shown by saying that when human want something they rush out for it without much thought, they don't spend much time considering options, and they readily share bits of information with each other. I believe Thomas is saying people don't usually focus on the big picture but focus on the little things and ignore everything else. On line 35/36 it shows us ‘’ They fumble and shove gradually moving the food toward the hill, but as though by blind chance.’’ In that line its saying they don't realize what they're doing except getting food and trying to survive. They probably don't know they are in a display at the museum, they're just going about their daily lives. When we think normally we don't think about the things that make us think or the process of each thought. The reality of the big picture is that we have neurons, and mitochondria, and cells and all these things that help us think and go about our daily lives, but no we don't think about that, we think and act normally. Thomas is trying to show us that there is more to our thoughts then what we regularly think
