During the discussion, last Thursday Bridget made an excellent point about the scene where the delivery man teaches Richard Wright to count. When I read the passage on my own I thought of it as the point where Wright’s education began. However, Bridget made an excellent lint about the genuinely of the scene. She saw a man, perhaps one of the only men, to leave a positive impact on young Richard Wright’s life.
