“Rikki-tikki-tavi” is a great story written by Rudyard Kipling. It is a story about a brave mongoose named Rikki-tikki-tavi that gets carried down a raging river, fights horrible snakes, and protects his new family. He will do anything to protect his family. Rikki-tikki-tavi is a patient, brave, and fearless mongoose.

First, Rikki shows great patience when he “...waited for hours until he had the right position to bite Nag.”(22). He was patient enough that he finally got the right angle to strike Nag in the head. Rikki also showed patients when he was trying to speak with Darzee, the little tailorbird. Darzee would not stop singing to let Rikki speak, until Rikki had to ask a third time, and then he started to get mad. Rikki-tikki has extraordinary patients for a mongoose. …show more content…
