Eert is a small, peaceful river valley that believes strongly in religion and takes pride in its culture. Citizens rely on their Tree God, Branchy, to grant them good harvests, hunts, and rain water. As long as citizens please Branchy with their annual sacrifices, they receive what they pray for. Citizens rely mostly on farming for their food, although hunting is common. The land is very fertile and is great for farming because of the flood that occurs once a year and the rain that certain areas of the island receives. The city Leafica is the main piece of land used for farming. Once a year, the water of the Root River floods the land located between where the river forks off and joins the main river again. This is the best farmland of the river valley. Farmers plant their crops about one to one and a half months in advance before the flood. When the flood arrives, it waters all of the crops, allowing them to grow well. In about three or four months, farmers return to harvest their crops. Most of the crops take three months at least, or six at most. In other parts of the river valley, such as the delta where the cities Brayleigh and Branna are closest to, the flood brings heavy rains to water the crops, such as carrots or the bananas that are grown in the Banana Forest. …show more content…

The Holy Forest is located in the Death Mountains. The Holy Forest is believed to be where the Tree God, Branchy, resides. All of the roads in the river valley lead from The Holy Forest to every important place in the city. There are three bridges in the valley that assist in the travel of citizens and/or goods. There are government buildings in every city except Leafica, because this city’s main priority is farming. The government buildings help to keep the important people from each city in close contact with each other. There are also towns surrounding each city (except Leafica) to provide housing to all of the citizens of
