However, it all started in 1585 when Robert White married Bridget Allgar and had a daughter named Mary White. Robert White was a rich man who was friendly to non-conformists at the time which was rather odd considering the time period; nonetheless, their daughter was baptized in 1590. Peter Lalor was the leader of the Eureka Stockade in 1854. He was born on February 5th of 1827 in Queen’s County, Ireland. His name ‘Lalor’ originated from the ‘O’Lalour’s, who fought against the English invasion of Ireland in the 1500’s. His family owned and leased almost 1000 acres of land and it provided prosperity until the Great Famine in 1845. His father led the resistance of peasants against the taxes collected by the Church and represented Queen’s County in the House of Commons.

The man who had started Thanksgiving was named William Bradford; It started from his marriage ceremony in the New World where the (Johnson) Wampanoags Native Americans (Whitehurst and Ruffin 18) brought over turkeys and deer to feast on (Johnson). William Bradford was the second governor of Plymouth for his wisdom and leadership; he ran for governor for thirty years with a five year break.
What is your reason for wishing to attend ISLI, and what do you think you can offer to the experience? I wish to attend ISLI to not only better my leadership capabilities but to better Lakenheath, it’s reputation in DODEA, and my peers. I wish to better Lakenheath and it’s reputation because the school has given much to me through programs such as JROTC, which develops my leadership skills and encourages me to seek out leadership so I can lead my peers to unimaginable heights. Lakenheath has also taught me that I can become a leader and I want all of DODEA to know that Lakenheath is a wonderful school with amazing people that fosters an atmosphere of responsibility and leadership. I wish to attend ISLI to better my peers because I believe everyone has a leader inside them, but everyone needs to be guided on how to express that particular skill.
