What is your reason for wishing to attend ISLI, and what do you think you can offer to the experience? I wish to attend ISLI to not only better my leadership capabilities but to better Lakenheath, it’s reputation in DODEA, and my peers. I wish to better Lakenheath and it’s reputation because the school has given much to me through programs such as JROTC, which develops my leadership skills and encourages me to seek out leadership so I can lead my peers to unimaginable heights. Lakenheath has also taught me that I can become a leader and I want all of DODEA to know that Lakenheath is a wonderful school with amazing people that fosters an atmosphere of responsibility and leadership. I wish to attend ISLI to better my peers because I believe everyone has a leader inside them, but everyone needs to be guided on how to express that particular skill. Have you had experience in such a setting and/or why do you think you thrive in such a setting? I have experience being in an unfamiliar setting with unfamiliar people through two years of leadership camps such as JROTC’s Cadet Leadership Course. JROTC’s Cadet Leadership course is structured identically to ISIL besides the fact that the curriculum is based off of John C. Maxwell's ideas of leadership and teaching students basic military skills. I believe I would thrive in a setting such as ISLI because in a similar setting like Cadet Leadership Course I earned top ten percent of my class, was actively engaged in all leadership courses, and got along with everybody fostering lifelong bonds of friendship all throughout DODEA. I enjoyed the challenge and the overpowering sense of teamwork Cadet Leadership Course gave me and I feel as if ISLI will not only do the same but make me even more culturally aware of the world around
