I-House Personal Statement

I believe that now, since I am a community member of the I-House, it is in my best interest to get involved in this new community. I feel that if I were to be the next I-House community leader, I would be able to provide the community and its members with helpful, fresh, and creative ideas that would not only be enjoyable to participate in, but also encourage mutual respect and cooperation. Being a person who loves working with others, as well as getting involved, I would want to take on this opportunity to become the community leader because I love being part of whichever environment I am placed into. Pretty much, a link leader is an orientation leader. I did this in 12th grade for the incoming freshman. It was a really good learning experience for me because I got to be a part of a major turning point in those kids lives. I think that doing this was a really good experience because I learned a lot of leadership skills through this overall experience. This link leadership allowed me to also get a Team Leader position that I am starting at Camp Galileo this summer. I am really excited to get this leadership experience as well and because it is this summer, I think that I will be able to learn even more about leadership, and develop more leadership skills as well. Though leadership is a major factor about being a community leader, being sociable and easy to connect to is an important quality to have as well. Being part of Reading Partners, I have had an also had opportunity to teach children how to read and write if they were falling behind in school. I am constantly eager to learn new things, and I found out through this experience, that when I am passionate about learning something new, I work very hard to get it done, and get it done
