I was excited when I read that there are two open positions at The Department of Human Services (DHS), within the office of Self Sufficiency. Sharing my professional knowledge and work experience always was my passion. My second MBA I focused in management and leadership area. My final project was centered in assessing how the leadership process can improve quality in organizations. I proposed a model to assess and apply leadership principles and to development and create a culture of self-improvement and cooperative teamwork in the Department of Human Services. The final project is titled “The Leadership in the DHS Process”, and was graded with “A”.
My education and experience providing technical assistance, consultation, and training started when I obtained my Master Degree in Public Administration in 1985. My experience interpreting and communicating complex information (rules, policies and procedures) I gained as eligibility worker (HSS3 and HS-Case Manager) I have to interpret and apply the DHS programs and policies to accurately and timely determine clients’ eligibility. I have also explained to clients the program policies and how the decision has been made. Currently, I still continue interpreting and communicating complex information to my team members, the DHS rules, policies, and procedures.
