Goddard Goddard self portrait https://www.google.com.au/Goddard Goddard was one of the great physicists of the nineteenth century that expanded our expanding knowledge of rockets and space flight. He made an impact on the society at the time when he lived through his break throughs and new concepts of space flight and the known universe.
Robert Goddard was a college professor that was based in America who had a very healthy passion for rocketry and spaceflight. At a young age Goddard decided that he would dedicate his life to the study of rocketry and spaceflight. Goddard was also a great engineer and an experimentalist which means that when he had ideas he would undertake these ideas practically and the tests that were successful he would …show more content…

He is considered the father of American space flight travel and has made a lot of inventions such as the liquid fuel rocket that we are still using to the present day. He was a great physicist of his time period and because of his break throughs in physics and space travel many more thing are now possible .What he chose at the young age of seventeen would have been impossible in the minds of the average human being in the late 19th century . He did the impossible and changed the world in the process.
The long term effects of Goddard’s affects are that he is simply now remembered as the father of space flight for the USA. Many of his inventions have pushed our knowledge of how to achieve space travel to the point at which it is today such as the invention of the liquid fuel rocket it has made space travel much more efficient to fly, than it was back in the 19th century where the fuel that they were using was solid bits of coal. So the value and importance’s of Goddard’s work was extremely significant for the evolution of space flight and rockets. If he did not achieve this than we may be several years behind in our rocketry
