Due to, severe three degree burnings and a broken back from the timber falling on him in a burning church. According to Ponyboy Curtis, his last words were “Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold.”
Alton Coleman. Alton Coleman (November 6, 1955 – April 26, 2002) was an American serial killer who operated in the Midwest United States during the summer of 1984. He was born in Waukegan, Illinois and had a troubled childhood, marked by physical and sexual abuse. Coleman began his killing spree on May 29, 1984, when he murdered a nine-year-old girl in his hometown of Waukegan.
The Murder Case Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I am here to question Johnny Cade’s innocence. About a week ago, Johnny Cade and his compatriot, Ponyboy Curtis, were strolling along the local park. According to Curtis, he and Johnny witnessed a vehicle stop on the outskirts of the park. Afterward, a bunch of these so-called “Socs,” all under the influence, approached the duo. Their small dispute quickly escalated physically, and one Soc assaulted Curtis and began drowning him in the park’s fountain.

He conducted the blood plasma programs of the United States and Great Britain during World War 2. Charles resigned, knowing that the blood of the African Americans would be separated. Ronald Gene Simmons began a killing spree on December 22, 1987 that culminated in the worst mass murder occurrence in Arkansas history six days later. He killed sixteen people during this short period of time; fourteen of his victims were members of his own family. Ronald was born forty seven years earlier on July, 15, 1940 in the city of Chicago. His father, William Simmons, died of a stroke before Ronald’s second birthday. Simmons’s mother remarried within a year of his father’s untimely passing.
James Earl Ray arguably became one of the most infamous murderers of the 20th century when he murdered Dr. Martin Luther King on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, TN. On March 10, 1969, Ray pleads guilty to murder and receives a 99 year sentence, cementing his name in history. The murder of Dr. King sparked riots and protests across the nation, and some argue set back the civil rights movement with the loss of one of the movement’s most notable figures. Three days after the guilty plea, Ray wrote the judge for a new trial professing his innocence (PBS, 2010). The years following and several lawyers later, Ray never got another day in court, but maintained his innocence.
However, his fellow partner in crime could not deal with the guilt and agony of the crime, so he later confesses to the police. Hansen was sentenced to three years in Iowa Men’s Reformatory; however he only served 20 months. It was also recommended that Hansen receive psychiatric treatment. Hansen agreed to the treatment; he opened up to the psychiatrist and explained his compulsion to set fires. Unfortunately Hansen soon realized that his prosecutors were using the information he was telling to the psychiatrists’ against him in court.
