The Father of the Atomic Bomb
Destroyer of worlds is what he called himself, Robert Oppenheimer. He was born in New York on April 22, 1904. His wife was Katharine Oppenheimer.He was an American Theoretical physicist and a physics professor at UC Berkeley. He was also part of the Manhattan project during WW2 and was also part U.S. Atomic Energy Committee, now known as the NRC. He became a lobbyist and used his position for International control on Nuclear power and prevent the rapid increase of nuclear weapons with the U.S. and the Soviet Union. Oppenheimer was the child of Jewish parents who came from Germany to America. His parents were Julius and Ella Oppenheimer. He went to school study physics and chemistry and ended up graduating with a bachelor in chemistry. He was then invited to create one of the most powerful bombs ever made. He accepted the offer and then was part of the Manhattan project. He was called the father of the atomic bomb. When they tested bomb in Trinity, the bomb explosion reminds him 100,000 suns going off at the same time. He also called himself the destroyer of worlds. When he saw the devastation the bomb made in Japan he argued against further development and resigned.
