Julius Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb, was very influential in science. He had a very gifted mind at an early age, but he would start to shine during his undergraduate studies at Harvard where he was proficient in Latin, Greek, physics, and chemistry. Julius Robert Oppenheimer was a scientist responsible for the atomic bomb. He is famous for his work with the bomb and his career as a theoretical physicist. Born on April 22nd, 1904, in New York City, Julius Robert Oppenheimer would become one of the greatest minds in history. Oppenheimer had a very gifted mind, his first achievements would come from his undergraduate studies at Harvard. Along with his studies, Oppenheimer would publish poetry and study eastern philosophy. He was proficient in many languages and other scientific subjects, learning and excelling in Latin, Greek, physics, and chemistry. Once graduating in 1925, he left for England to study at the University of Cambridge. While at Cambridge university, Oppenheimer was invited to the University of Gottingen to study alongside other prominent physicists. Alongside physicists Niels Bohr and P.A.M. Dirac, he received his doctorate in physics. Once he finished his studies at Gottingen, Oppenheimer left to visit several science centers to teach and study physics. After short visits to science centers in Leiden and Zürich, he returned to America to teach physics.
