In 509 B.C.E. the Romans had taken back their own rule that the Etruscans had maintained for Decades(RR). A republic was formed after the Romans were in control again that gave the people a say in how the state was run(RR). Many countries had copied this form of government including the United States(RR). The Romans also had the three branches of government. The executive legislative, and judicial branch. The citizens would elect Praetors, these were judges that ruled in the judicial branch and would be voted for each year(AR). Usually only the wealthy Praetors would be elected leaving out the middle and lower class citizens of Rome(AR).Today in The U.S., people can vote on issues that are addressed within America and are also able to vote on who is elected as the president no matter what financial state they are in. The English Bill of Rights was made to prevent one person from gaining too much power. King James the second had abused his power and so these rights were written to prevent our own President or other leaders from gaining too much power as well. The English Bill of Rights was made up of many different documents whereas the United States Bill of Rights were about the citizens and their interactions with the government(DEW). John Locke had a great influence on the United States Government because of his many different interests dealing with American Government. He had gone against King James in 1685 and soon king James had no power and Parliament was in charge. He wrote a book called The Two Treaties of Government
