There were many different causes for the fall of the Roman empire, not just one. The Roman Empire was very strong, but eventually broke down over time for a multitude of reasons. Most of those reasons had to do with changes in Rome’s identity. Some of these changes in Rome’s identity led to the fall of Rome because they were so sudden; only portions of the Roman population were prepared for the change. Other times, citizens got into arguments because they were, in a way, too prepared.
The movie Gladiator directed by Ridley Scott could be the biggest disaster of a film on ancient Rome. This film’s only positive trait was how Ridley Scoot and the writers showed an accurate view of how the people and violence were at that time which was the 2nd century AD. Even with this positive trait, the movie historical is a disaster due to the massive amount of historical inaccuracies that are littered throughout the movie. The historical inaccuracies included gladiatorial, military, and political inaccuracies.

As a writer at Gladiators Monthly, I am examining the historical accuracy of the movie Gladiator. There are aspects of Gladiator that do and do not hold true to the historical accuracy of the Romans under Commodus. This essay will show how the depiction of Commodus has both accurate and inaccurate qualities, while the portrayal of the Roman crowd determining the fate of the gladiators is quite accurate. In reality, Commodus did not kill his father, Marcus Aurelius, nor did he reign for such a short period of time.

First, Athens and Sparta differed in geographic positions. Athens, in modern days, finds itself as part of the Attica peninsula, surrounded by the Aegean Sea, the Gulf of Evoikos, the Saronic Gulf and the Gulf of Corinth. An note of interest is that this peninsula finds protection from Mt. Egaleo to the west, Mt. Parnes to the north, Mt. Pentelikon to the north east and Mt. Hymettus to the east. However, located on a far south peninsula of Greece, known as the Peloponnesus peninsula, travelers find Sparta, known in modern days as Sparti. Sparti finds itself surrounded by Mount Taygetos on one side and the valley of Evrotas on the other, a much less complex layout than that of Athens.

Which shows that war forces people to change for the worst of them or not for the better. That people are weeping for another one lost or another one problem. That war can united people together under one government and people with the same problem can be relatable to each other in certain crisis because they had gone through it themself.
