For centuries, mythology has been a popular topic among young scholars. The stories of magnificent wars, terrifying gods and enchanting goddesses have enveloped researchers and sent them into an entirely different realm. There are so many different types of mythology, including Greek mythology and Roman mythology. These two topics often get confused because they seem so similar. However, they each have their own incredible stories and own mixtures of mythological creatures that set them apart from each other.
The first differences are the stories where all the history originated. In Greek mythology, it’s said that there was a war between the gods and the Titans. After finally overthrowing the Titans, the gods made their dwelling place Mount Olympus which was the highest mountain in Greece. Then Zeus became the leader of all the land. Then the gods and goddesses were born and took on traits and personalities similar to humans. Unlike humans, they had special jobs in life that they must take on.
On the other hand, a lot of Roman mythology was actually taken from the Greeks, though some has been altered. A lot of the Roman gods …show more content…

First we have Zeus, who is the “King of the Gods” and “Ruler of Mankind.” Next, we have Poseidon who is the god of the seas. Then there are Hermes, the god of Trade, Hera, the goddess of Family, and Hephaestus, the god of Metallurgy. After, we have Hades, the god of the Underworld, Demeter, goddess of the Harvest, Hestia, goddess of the Hearth, and Dionysus, the god of Wine. These four gods were interchangeable as there could never be more than twelve at a time.
