In the Shakespearean play Romeo and Juliet, the play is mainly ran by the bad choices Romeo and Juliet make. These many hasty decisions eventually led to the death of the two star crossed lovers. Some of the decisions that will be mentioned here will be: Romeo getting involved in Mercutio and Tybalt’s “duel”, the Friar agreeing to marry Romeo and Juliet, and the two lovers rushing into marriage. To begin, one of the impetuous decisions Romeo makes: Getting involved in Mercutio and Tybalt.“Hold Tybalt! Good Mercutio!” Romeo should have just stayed out of these two “dueling”(although it wasn’t really fighting) because had he stayed out Mercutio wouldn’t have been killed and the law would have caught up with Tybalt for dueling …show more content…

When Romeo came in to ask Friar to marry him the Friar says that Romeo saw him previously saying that he couldn’t live without Rosaline. Then he instantly thinks that marrying a Montague to a Capulet would end the feud. This decision affects most of the outcome in this play. “To turn your households’ rancor to pure love.” Now the feuding families eventually stopped but only because Romeo and Juliet died. This was mainly because of the Friar. If he didn’t marry them then Romeo and Juliet would probably still be alive. And if he hadn’t chosen to give Juliet the potion then Juliet wouldn’t have faked her death which wouldn’t have made Romeo kill himself and then Juliet kill herself. These unfortunate series of events could’ve have also been avoided if the Friar wasn’t so obsessed with trying to stop the feuding Montagues and Capulets. Him being so confident in himself was his downfall because even though he realized that marrying them was a bad decision, he still tried to fix things These events also help with the case of the Friar being more like a villain in this play. People may argue that Romeo and Juliet were under the effect of fate. Romeo and Juliet sure do. “O’ I am fortunes fool!” Romeo believes he is under the effect of fate here because he believes he was in the wrong place at the wrong time which eventually caused him
