Would you die for your true love? Well in the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet two people meet from opposing houses and in one night they fall in love. Because of their love and choices six people die. Romeo and Juliet suffer. This is because the author William Shakespeare wanted to give the message that all your poor actions have consequences. The way Shakespeare shows the theme the most is through Romeo’s actions. One way Shakespeare sends the message it's when he has the Prince say “And for that offence immediately we do exile him hence.” ( Shakespeare 129) Since Romeo was on a rush of anger he made a careless decision and picked a fight with Tybalt leading to Tybalt’s death,and his banishment. Shakespeare wanted to show that if you make a bad choice, there will be a price to pay. Another way Romeo conveys the theme is by saying “ get me ink and paper and hire post horse I will hence.” ( Shakespeare 209) Romeo finds out Juliet is dead he thinks on his feet and decides to go back to Verona. Another example is when Juliet says “ they purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow,... Where and what time thy will perform the rite.”(Shakespeare 79) This Choice was what started all Juliet's poor decisions. she chooses to marry someone who she just met and because of that she is punished with death sorrow and shame.
