Impulsive tendencies are infamous for always ending poorly. Sadly, two young lovers prove this to be true, the main protagonists in William Shakespeare's famed play Romeo and Juliet. In spite of the popular saying “love conquers all”, the two lovers story only ends in woe and death. Impulsive behavior is most to blame for the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet. The characters who showcase this reckless trait the most are the nurse, Friar Laurence, and Romeo. The nurse risks her position in the Capulet household out of love for Juliet when she impulsively helps Juliet be with Romeo, ultimately firing up a fatal chain of events. She fails to consider how Lord Capulet, her employer, would feel about his daughter marrying his foe's son. Though with good intentions, the nurse's misguided assistance paves the way for tragedy, much like Friar Laurence’s impulsive actions. A Friar is meant to be wise and trustworthy - be capable of having everyone's best interest when making important decisions. However, Friar Laurence’s actions are completely impulsive and borderline disastrous, mainly shown when he hastily marries Romeo and Juliet, “Come, come with me, and we will make short work” (2.6.35). Not once did Friar Laurence try to speak to both lovers simultaneously about the repercussions their marriage could lead to if anyone else found out. Why do you need to be a member? Because he hadn’t thought about them himself. Friar Laurence’s quick decision to marry Romeo and Juliet amplifies their fate, just like Romeo’s reckless actions. Romeo’s impulsive actions, frequently led by sadness or anger, make him make dire mistakes. His most fateful decision happens when he finds out about Juliet’s death, “Well, Juliet, I will lie with thee
