In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare both main characters Romeo and Juliet die at the end. They were warned several times over the play not to fall in love but didn't listened and that lead to them deciding on their own to kill themselves. Fate is when you can't control your future. Some may say their deaths was fates fault but this is inaccurate because they both chose to kill them selves. They chose their own destiny. Some may think it was fate that lead to Romeo and Juliet's death but this is inaccurate because the quote in the prologue "A pair of star cross'd lovers take their life" shows how this is fate. The quote "I have no joy of this contract tonight it is to rash to unadvised to sudden" from scene 2 act 2 shows how Juliet thought the marriage was happening to fast. She could've stopped it but she kept going even though she thought the marriage could wait longer and they fell in love way to fast. The quote in act 2 scene 6 "therefore moderately long love doth so too swift arrives as tardy as to slow" shows how Friar Lawrence is telling Romeo not to fall in love to fast. Romeo was getting so caught up in his emotions that he forgot that love takes time. In Romeo and Juliet the quote in act 5 scene 3 "i'll be brief O happy dagger this thy sheaf there rust and let me die" shows how Juliet is attempting to kill her self. Juliet controlled what she did in that moment, not fate. Juliet does what she wants not anything else. Lastly the quote in act 1 scene 1 "some consequence yet hanging in the stars shall bitterly begin his fearful date with this nights revels and expire the term" demonstrates that there's not any fate.
