Shakespeare’s portrayal of the nurse indicates the nurse is physically weak and lacks stamina. Evident as the nurse travels to Romeo to convey news for Juliet, due to the fact that she exhibits signs of tiredness and exhaustion after the journey. Thus, the nurse explains to Juliet, who is eager to receive the news, “I am weary”, suggesting that she is showing extreme fatigue, especially as a result of excessive exertion. Invoking the imagery, the journey to Romeo’s abode was potentially demanding and harsh, causing the nurse to become “weary”.
