Throughout the play Romeo and Juliet continually battled to be together although there was nothing but challenges that came based on the fact that neither one of them were “aloud” to be with one another. At the end of the play Romeo was no longer aloud to stay in the town of Verona which caused neither of them to be together, which later leaded to both of the young teens to commit suicide. The fault of this tragedy landed to both Juliet's parents. They are responsible for the death of the Romeo and Juliet because they were egotistical and inconsiderate. The key reason that Juliet's parents are to blame is because they were both egotistical. Juliet and Romeo were able to work past the obstacle of hiding their love for one another. Further down the play she expressed how she had felt towards Romeo without hiding it. In the play Juliet responds to her mother after she is told Romeo will be killed by saying “I’ll never be satisfied with Romeo until I see him . . . dead—dead is how my poor heart feels when I think about my poor cousin. “ Juliet explains to her mom how she “feels” about Romeo because her mom would not think twice about how she feels if she was honest. Instead, Juliet explaining how she wants Romeo dead, reveals the mindset of Lady Capulet and how she would/did feel towards the Montagues let alone Romeo himself. To add on, Lord and Lady Capulet propose to Juliet that she will be getting married to Paris. Juliet doesn't have it, she tells her mom “And, when I do marry, I swear, it will be Romeo, whom you know I hate, rather than Paris. That’s really news!” by Juliet pleading against the marriage that is set up, her father in response says “ You’re not really giving me any thanks for showing me any pride. But get yourself ready for Thursday. You’re going to Saint Peter’s Church to marry Paris. And if you don’t go on your own, I’ll drag you there. You disgust me, you little bug! You worthless girl! You pale face!” this statement from Lord Capulet puts into perspective how truly inconsiderate her parents were to how she felt about anything causing a downhill fall with Juliet's mindset. Lord Capulet felt as if he was doing Juliet a favor. He expressed “ Doesn’t she realize how unworthy she is of the gentleman we have found to be her bridegroom?”. Alongside, this shows Juliet's mother and father both made it out to sound as if their daughter was the one being inconsiderate, as if she was being ungrateful but never once stopped to ever understand Juliet's
