If you have read Romeo and Juliet, have you ever wondered who was to blame? Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, is a tragic love story. William Shakespeare was an incredible writer and this is one of his best works. Romeo and Juliet’s family, Juliet and Friar Lawrence, were the ones to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death. This is because their families made them feel like they couldn’t trust them, leading them into a web of secrets and lies. First of all, you need to know that Romeo and Juliet's parents were sworn enemies. This caused a lot of tension between the two families. So imagine what reaction they would have if they found out about Romeo and Juliet's love. Act 2 scene 2 line 69 says “If they do see thee, they will murder thee”, we can see that Juliet believes that they will kill Romeo if their parents find out. In this play, we can see how Juliet commits so many bad decisions. Starting with marrying a guy the day after they met. Furthermore, Juliet also caused the main event that caused all this to go downhill. Juliet didn’t tell her dad she was already married, which made him believe that she would marry Paris. In Act 4, Scene 3, Line 14, we can see Juliet following through the dangerous plan that will lead to death, “Fare well. God knows when we shall meet again” If Juliet had gathered the courage to talk to her father instead of faking her death, things would have gone much differently. “Indeed I never shall be satisfied with Romeo, till I behold him dead -”, this quote from Act 3 Scene 5 line 93-94 tells us that Juliet pretended to hate Romeo instead of telling the truth.
