In the play “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, two lovers who fight to be together ultimately end their deaths. Due to their parents poor communication and bad advice, it often leads to a misunderstanding and disaster. The lack of communication between children and parents causes the inability to love. Romeo and Juliet’s parents do not provide care and attention. Meanwhile, if their parents would help guide them throughout life and support them, they wouldn’t make such bad choices. In “The Teenage Brain: Still Under Construction” by The National Institute of Mental Health, science has proven that lack of communication and parental guidance can affect teens in a physical and emotional way. Researchers explain that “Genes, childhood experience, and the environment in which a young person reaches adolescence all shape behavior.” This reveals that the way children grow up, without counseling, causes them to make careless decisions. Moreover, teenage brains grow as they get older but they still don’t make the best choices. Do as thou wilt, for I have done with thee.” (3.5.211-212) This shows that in the making scenes, there are no communication between Juliet and her mother, Lady Capulet. Also, parents should consider the development of their teens children brains as they try to understand how to relate to them. As for Juliet and her mother, she doesn't try to understand her. For instance, “Well think of marriage now.” (1.3.73) and “The valiant Paris seeks you for his love.” (1.3.78) As shown, Lady Capulet picks and chooses what Juliet wants, that’s why she makes thoughtless choices. In other words, Juliet’s parenting provided is
