Who was to blame?
The story of Romeo and Juliet is truly a tragedy. Two young people died. They killed themselves. They committed one of the worst sins that could be committed at the time, all for true love. There are a lot of people who could be to blame for this tragedy. There’s Mercutio, who made Romeo go to the dance where he met Juliet. There’s Friar Lawrence, who keeps Romeo and Juliet’s relationship a secret, which leads to Juliet having to get married to Paris, who didn’t know that she was already married. These people played a significant part in this tragedy, but the real culprits are Romeo and Juliet’s families.

She doesn’t want to marry Paris because she is already married to Romeo. That would be a horrible sin. She can’t refuse to marry Paris because her father threatened to disown her. She can’t tell the truth as to why she doesn’t want to get married because she would most likely get disowned for loving Romeo. She has no other choice than to fake her own death. She wouldn’t have had to do this if her parents didn’t arrange for her to be married to Paris. Juliet went to Friar Lawrence and asked for help. He gave her poison and told her how to use it to fake her death. Juliet followed his instructions and she slipped into a coma in her sleep. She appeared to be dead. The Capulets held a funeral for their beloved Juliet. Friar Lawrence tried to send a letter to Romeo, but the letter couldn’t get to him. Friar Lawrence would have been able to tell Romeo about the plan if he wasn’t banished. The only reason he was banished was that the Capulets wanted him dead, but the Prince because he thought that banishment is kinder.
