One of the most important things Romulus did for Rome was create it. Without him the city would have never grown into the empire it was. Because he founded it, a new story was created. As the great city grew it was easily noticed that the male population was drastically outnumbering the female population. This also meant that there was only one generation to last. To solve this problem, Romulus invited the surrounding cities, mostly consisting of Sabines, to a festival in honor of Neptune. While the Sabine men were distracted, the Romans stole the women.
