Becoming the Vice President of Public Relations for the Rho Beta Chapter is a Phi Theta Kappa activity that has had a profound impact on my life, both socially and academically. When I initially joined Phi Theta Kappa, I was unaware of the high caliber of company that I was joining. The Phi Theta Kappa community is one where members encourage each other to challenge themselves academically, and invest wholeheartedly in their community. Running for and holding an office in the Rho Beta Chapter has given me the opportunity to meet and develop relationships with my fellow members. Since holding this office, I have met and befriended many new people who continuously inspire me.
Help change the world! Volunteering in your community can help out others in myriad of ways. This will create happiness in other lives. A nonprofit organization that can greatly improve the quality of one’s life is the second harvest food bank in central Florida. This organization is dedicated to helping the people that are in need of food.
Basically, I learned that it is crucial to take audacious steps when we see people in vulnerable situations. Additionally, it is very important for me to lead others by example, have a positive attitude even amid intense circumstances, work as a team, listen to others’ suggestions, articulate my vision to the team members, and encourage others. In addition, I learned that a leadership role has to be Christ centered and it needs to be a grace driven effort in lieu of self-seeking success. My previous experiences helped me to believe that a community of believers working together with servant-heart mindset can, definitely, transform the vulnerable societies.
There was a time when I can help student understand the concept better during school and it help them get their grades better. These leadership help me impact a positive change to not just me but to people who wanted
Here I serve on a leadership team charged with not just the duties of being a role model for our Youth Group but also with assisting teachers, leading small groups, and making any new attendees feel welcome. The next of my many
I am willing to help in any way that I can to volunteer my time to help out the community and to help those in need. I volunteer at the food pantry, make Valentine’s cards for the nursing home, and collecting donations for The Heartbeat Center. The leadership pillar has shaped my development by becoming an excellent leader. I am willing to sacrifice my time to change other people’s lives. For example, I attended the Relay for Life meetings instead of spending time with my friends.
The community and legacy of Baird Scholars is one that focuses on excelling and improving, not only oneself, but the entire community as a whole. Looking forwards, I feel I could greatly contribute to the Baird community. Throughout high school, I always took challenging or advanced classes in order to push myself, and to expand my knowledge. I also had many experiences both as a leader and a volunteer. My main experience in leadership was in the Tanque Verde Bible Club, a group started by a fellow student and carried on by a group of five leaders.
This drastically developed my leadership skills and enabled me to take action and have a more direct impact on the world. These skills will prepare me to be a leader and an innovator in
The four pillars of the National Honor Society consists of leadership, scholarship, service, and character. These characteristics must be possessed by an individual in order to be a member of the society. I believe that I possess all the these four qualities and should become a member of National Honor Society. Leadership is when someone has a positive influence on people and brings out the best in them. I am a leader of the junior class student body as being a member of student council.
By taking on leadership roles such as being president of environmental club and public relations of class council, I am a mentor to others all while sharing the same interests and providing opportunities for them to build their own character. Prior to this school year, I was fortunate enough to attend a weeklong event called Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, where I lived there for a week surrounded by young leaders from all over south jersey. In this experience, I learned that being a leader means being understanding of others and their situations. With this experience I was able to bring back what I learned to my own communities like environmental club. Not only do I have to be organize and communicative, but I also have to be a role model to members of a club by showing my own good character.
Boys and Girls Clubs Greater of Milwaukee impacted my life as a person on what I bring to the community such as passion and motivation towards mentoring and coaching young scholars. My first impact in my life for the Clubs was when I started working as an intern Youth Worker at Engleburg Elementary School. Becoming a Youth Worker impacted my life by helping students with life skills, academics, and most importantly what it's like to be a teenager and how my impact can make a difference in the city I was born and raised in and how other scholars can achieve and accomplish their goals. My club manager, Sarah Vogds, has impacted my life as a strong support system, making me someone who treats club staff, club managers and young academics with
This volunteer experience allowed me to implement servant leadership principles including, listening, empathy, stewardship and commitment to the growth of others and building of the community. Speaking with and listening to the donors, has shown me the importance in taking the time to learn the stories of others and how as servant leaders,
It is in my best interest to give my patients the best care and make them feel satisfied. I am also in a career oriented organization called SkillsUSA, where students can volunteer in several events to provide community service and leadership skills. One of my favorite clubs would be Student to Student. As an officer, I
