Rudy Bamber was a young jewish boy living in the city of Nuremberg Germany His father was beaten to death. In Germany and Austria , Kristallnacht happened on November 9th and 10th in 1938. It happened because the Nazis started a pogrom because of hitler and it spreaded from Germany to Austria. The Night Of Terror on November 9th, 1938, in cities and towns throughout Germany and Austria, Nazi soldiers broke into homes and beat jewish men and arrested them and some were killed. Everybody knows of the night of Kristallnacht , Kristallnacht was a pogrom designed by the Nazi leadership to encourage Jewish people to leave Germany and Austria. It was reported in newspapers all over Europe and the United states. No one either in germany or elsewhere in the world took steps to intervene on behalf of the jewish people living in Austria and Germany. During the Kristallnacht pogrom, the SA set fire to jewish community centers and tossed furniture from second story apartments as local police stood by and watched. Firefighters stood idle while the synagogues burned. They also damaged many jewish cemeteries, hospitals, schools, and homes as the police and fire brigades stood aside. Rioters burned and destroyed 267 synagogues, vandalized or looted 7,500 Jewish businesses, and killed at least 91 Jewish people. In 1934-1935 The Nazis continued to apply pressure to Germany’s Jewish citizens, signs reading “Jews not wanted” started to appear in hotels, theaters, sports stadiums, and restaurants. On September 15, 1935,racial discrimination and hatred were formalized in the Nuremberg laws.
