I often sit and think about the first time I met her, it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, a simple . A flashing red light and an annoying beep let me know upon trying to start my car that today was they day that it finally decided to give out. I could either walk the mile and a half back to my house or phone my mother who more than likely wouldn’t answer. I decided to take a seat on the poorly maintained sidewalk just beyond the front steps of Rutherford High School, the city’s pride and joy even though we haven’t won an athletic event in several years. I pulled out my phone and started to dial my mothers number when I heard footsteps approaching from behind.
“excuse me,” said the softest voice I had ever heard in my life , she continued. “Do you know where the nearest movie theater is?”

Her smile white and brilliant set against sun kissed skin. Her hair a swirl of hazel and mahogany that complimented her eyes that were rich and deep like molasses. I was pulled back to reality when I realized she was still waiting for me to answer.
I stood up shakily and wiped my clammy palms on my stone washed jeans.
“Y-es actually, umm it just a few blocks away on Tyler Avenue do you know where that is,” I said.
“No, I don’t think so, is that a far walk from here?”
I realized that the movie theater was in the same direction as my house so I figured that i could walk her to the theater and make pace towards my house.
“I was just about to start walking that way, if you don’t mind, I could walk you there if you would like,” I let out.
“Well sure if you don’t mind, I just wanted to see what movies were playing,by the way, my name is Sarah,” She said.
