The agency I did my interview at is called Safe Alternatives For Everyone(SAFE). On the morning of Friday April 28th, I took a tour of the facility and conducted the interview at 28910 Pujol St Temecula, CA. (951) 587-3900. The funny thing is this facility is located on the street that I would take my dog for a walk and I would always see the facility, but I wasn’t curious as to what that building was about. After ringing the bell twice, I was greeted by a lovely lady, who greeted me inside the facility and introduced me with Janelle the person who did the tour and interview with me. In addition, on a weekly basis, CARE with the cooperation of the Murrieta and Temecula Police department’s program, Police Activities League(PAL) local law enforcement officers reach out to the youth who are at risk or had negative interactions with police officers. This program gives the youth an opportunity to see police officers in a different setting and experience positive interactions with local police officers. In addition, CARE operates a second-hand store, located in Temecula on Jefferson Street (by Jack in The Box.) Janelle, told me that Alli’s Resale Shop is named after Alli Jacobs, a resident of Temecula, who lost her life as a result of domestic violence in 1993. This resale store offers clothing for just about anyone said Janelle. The store also gives youth the opportunity to volunteer at the store and gain work related skills.
