Code of ethics these are principles which guide professional journalists during their period of collecting information. It is important for journalists to follow the code of ethics in during their time of collecting and disseminating the news. When a journalist does not follow these principles, their work can end lacking credibility and validity. For example, “Be vigilant and courageous about holding those with power accountable. Give voice to the voiceless” (SPJ, n.d.). Journalists who do follow the code of law tends not to give voice to the voiceless. This can lead to bias in your news stories.
