Townsend recruits Sophia as a spy. She is sent into a mansion as a housemaid. Mr. Townsend thought she would make a great spy because she can read and that did help Sophia gain information since her job was the clean John Andre’s office. He left letters about the war in his office and that is where Sophia got most of the information. She takes a long trip, on foot, up to continue her spying on John Andre.

These characters use their power for good but some use there power for evil. Sometimes it doesn't turn out as planned, and they make the situation worse. First of all how Abigail Williams uses her power to save her but lied. And now Know one trust her, they believes she is dangerous over all. Abigail Williams is a young girl, who gets into trouble, for the bad decisions that she makes.
Sammy’s failed attempt goes unnoticed, and Lengel offers to give Sammy another chance. Sammy however, thought that taking it would be a “fatal not to go through with it. ”(Updike.19). Sammy exits the store, being jobless and failing his goal of wooing Queenie. Nonetheless, Sammy’s act of standing up for Queenie because of her attire is what makes him a hero.
Through the window, Sammy depicts Lengel as cold and hard as metal. as Sammy connects the “hardness” of Lengel’s appearance with the hardness that awaits him in his future dealings with the world. Franny talk about their life 's and what they have both been up to. They spend it by critique each other on how they should act and what they should not do. Franny tries to play the role of a good girlfriend listening and paying attention to what her boyfriend Lane has to say, but there bickering at one other cause Franny to argue with Lane on how she hates people that are phoniness and just wants to fade into the background and be a nobody. Throughout the story Franny 's comments on how a person has to act a certain way because of the social standards that are set. She spends her time in the story abiding by the standers and commenting on them causing her to have an emotional breakdown.
The narrator, although unnamed, is in my opinion a round character because of the insight into him as a person, he is not just a necessity to move the story along but a person with thoughts and motives. Lust does not develop the character in the traditional sense so much as portray one character and then abruptly, violently, twist the character to reveal her thoughts, feelings, and desires to be the complete opposite of those originally portrayed. A&P does not, in my opinion, focus much on developing the character of Sammy. His thoughts about
Sam Winchester had to be a masochist in disguise. He had no other explanation for the reason behind clicking play on the DVD in his laptop. The archangel Gabriel had left it to him and his brother- in typical joking fashion- in the form of an innocent- maybe not- looking porn film. Ever the prankster, they’d been forced to watch him saunter onto the camera and have his wicked way with the girl in bed with him before he’d offer any help. Ironic?
Main character sammy is a witty, rude, immature boy who is driven by sexual characteristics of women. His masculinity is hindered when the three girls are kicked out and must feel like “their unsuspected hero” to them by quitting his job. Unfortunately, the girls don't stop. “Queenie” (5), is characterized as striking and confident. She's bold and the herring snacks implies she is rich.
Every character in this book has a function. The main characters George and Lennie have a unique relationship unlike anyone else. George is a person that Lennie looks up to and wants to be like.” Lennie who had been watching, imitated George exactly. He pushed himself back grew up his knees, embraced them, looked over at George to see whether he had it just right.
A deceiving student, Macca, dominates both Ruth and fellow victim, Philip. No one attempts to control this, not even Mrs Canmore who only warns the bullies. One student, Ruth, comes from a tough background; she is a soldier against the Macca War. Despite the consequences, Ruth becomes a quiet hero; this inspires the audience. Throughout the story, the author portrays Ruth as a shred of hope for the other characters.
