Objective
To provide nursing care that upholds the ethical, culturally competent, and holistic expectations of the patient and patient’s family. To also promote health and protect the patient’s safety, privacy and dignity at all times, while advocating the patient and properly educating the patient about their health care and their options pertaining to care.
Professional Qualities
• Ability to communicate well with and establish great relationships with patients and families of patients.
• Utilization of safety procedures and precautions when performing patient care.
• Performing patient teaching at a level that the patient can understand and feel comfortable with communicating any concerns or questions about their care.
• Protecting patient privacy and dignity during patient care.
• Accuracy in medication dosage and administration.
• Ability to provide the patient with pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic relief of pain and symptoms, and the ability to acknowledge when each therapy is appropriate.
