General Robert Edward Lee served as a military officer in the U.S. Army, was a West Point commandant and was the legendary general of the Confederate Army during the American Civil War. Robert E. Lee was born on January 19, 1807 in Stratford Hall, Virginia. Lee. He grew up in Northern Virginia with his mother and eight other siblings. His father, Henry Lee, left Robert, and his siblings, when he was six and died when Robert was 11.

He was born January 19, 1807 at Stratford Hall Plantation in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He died on October 12, 1870 at the age of 63, he was buried at the Lee Chapel Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. Robert was the son of Major General Henry Lee the third and Anne Hill Carter. His family is one of Virginia’s first families, originally arriving in Virginia from England in the early 1600s.
February 10, 1763 Treaty of Paris (French and Indian War) The end of the war has come. The seven years war started by the British declaring war against France. The French had been expanding into the Ohio Valley creating conflict amongst the countries. With the signing of the treaty France lost a lot of land.
Juan Ponce De Leon stood at a towering 4 feet 11 inches. He was born in the village of Santervas de Campos, Spain, 1747. His primary goal was to find gold and colonize land for Spain. He was the very first European known to have visited the America, known as present day United States in 1513. He also discovered Florida and the Bahama Channel, and was ordered to colonize Puerto Rico.
Elizabeth Griscom, familiarly known as Betsy Ross, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 1st, 1752. She attended a Quaker public school. After finishing school, Betsy apprenticed to a local upholsterer, William Webster. In colonial times, upholsterers did all types of sewing such as learning to make and repair curtains, bedcovers, tablecloths, and rugs. Betsy fell in love with a fellow apprentice named John Ross.

They took over and gained a lot of land in the colonies, which were originally owned by the French. But they had borrowed a huge amount of money to help fund the war.

The other two treaties, called conventions, described how the United States would pay France. The two nations agreed that the United States would pay France $11,250,000 in cash over a period of fifteen years. Furthermore, some American citizens claimed that the French government owed them money for goods that the French navy had seized at sea.

George Washington Carver was born in Diamond Grove, Missouri in January of 1864. His parents were Mary and Giles Carver, and their master was Moses Carver (the slave took up their owner’s last name.) Giles, George’s father left his mother before he was born, only to leave Mary, his mother, to raise George on her own. However, later on, Mary and George were kidnapped by northern raiders to be sold in Arkansas. George was returned frail, feeble and scrawny infant a year later in 1865 with no sign of his mother.

Thomas Jefferson’s works and ideas laid the foundation for several key aspects on the limits of the United States government, the idea of separation of church and state, and the importance of personal rights. Jefferson wrote many influential pieces of literature which pushed the concept of having limited government power. Jefferson wanted America not to be like the European monarchies that fell due to religious strife, so he emphasized a secular government. Jefferson, following closely with the ideas of John Locke, stressed the importance of the protection of individual rights against the government. Thomas Jefferson believed that a government should have limitations.
Sir Edmund Hillary was a renowned person around the world because he was the first conqueror of Mount Everest. Sir Edmund Percival Hillary was a New Zealand mountaineer, explorer and philanthropist. Sir Edmund Hillary also founded the Himalayan Trust in the 1960’s which built schools, hospitals and health clinics which assisted the Nepalese people after his ascent of Mount Everest. Hillary later participated in expeditions to the South Pole and was among the first to reach the top of Mount Herschel. Edmund’s life in this essay will be explored in further detail.
