An improper understanding of human sexuality has led to the acceptance of abortion, sterilization ,and surrogacy. Abortion is a process where the mother kills the fetus. Sometimes there a certain circumstances for these actions, but some women think they are not ready to be a mother. Even though the fetus is still developing, doesn’t it have a life to claim? When mother’s find out their child will come out with deformities, they wish to not go along with the pregnancy. A lot of people think having an abortion is a women’s choice. A 17 year old teen is likely to carry her baby to full term. Most teens are embarrassed to talk to their parents or go to the doctors. What they don’t realize is that it only takes one time to get pregnant. Parents could help prevent some of these abortions and pregnancies. Parents could do this by just talking to their teens. There are medical reasons why abortion is wrong, such as an increased risk of breast cancer, and that the fetus feels the pain from the abortion. Abortion means any premature expulsion of a fetus even if it’s by natural causes. Abortion is not a new concept. Abortion has been there dating all the way back to Ancient Egypt, Greece , Rome and into the Middle Ages. In the 19th century abortion began to get all the attention it gets now. It was in the 19th century that the abortion laws were being passed. In 1973 the Supreme Court case of Roe v. Surrogacy is paid child bearing. This is when a fertile woman gets paid for being impregnated and giving birth to a child of a couple who can’t have children of their own. Some people might see this as an acceptable alternative, but surrogacy is in fact immoral. Surrogacy infringes the rights and dignity of a child. The child has a right to be conceived by the loving union of spouses, as well as the dignity of the marital union. Some couples assume they have a right to a child, no matter how the child is conceived. This is false. On Respect for Human Life in its Origin and on the Dignity of Procreation says that marriage doesn’t confer upon the spouses right to have a child, but only a right to preform the natural acts which are ordered to procreation. Spouses who were unaware of these moral implications of IVF and surrogate motherhood might have less culpability, because of their ignorance. This still does not make surrogacy morally justified . They should have researched the implications
