In Andrew Stanton’s Pixar Film, “Wall-E”, is an animated movie set in the far future in 2805 where humans have left an inhabitable Earth on a ship called Axion leaving robots to clean up the garbage on Earth. Throughout the movie we see a relationship between Wall-E and Eve develop that is unexpected due to them being robots. This film critisizes today's society and portrays an environmental message showing us that we should not let technology take over. The film shows us through satirical devices that humans taking shortcuts with technology has led to an undesirable life. In the beginning of the film, we are shown what Earth looks like. It is critisizing the amount of excess and waste produced by humans on Earth by using exaggeration, showing the enormous buildings being built out of garbage (Stanton 3:27). He collects things such as rubber ducks or rubiks cubes and even has a friend which is a little cockroach. We develop a love for the character Wall-E and his little quirks that he has. At the end of the movie, Stanton uses pathos by showing the love that Wall-E and Eve develop for each other even though they are robots and shouldn’t have feelings. When Wall-E gets injured and has to restart he becomes a normal robot and disposes of the things he loves, then while Eve departs she gives Wall-E a kiss. This kiss creates a spark, and Wall-E returns to himself not wanting to let go of Eve’s hand and we see the love they share between eachother (Stanton 1:28:24). In contrast to the robots having feelings we see that the humans really don’t have the ability to show love. The sincerity between Wall-E and Eve proves to us that the humans are devoid of intimacy due to being so invested in the technology around
